About the Job

We are looking for a talented and enthusiastic UI/UX Artist to imagine, develop and deliver intuitive, user friendly and consistent interaction experiences for our live game and it’s vibrant community of users!

You will be working within a small, closely knit, multidisciplinary team in an agile development environment designed to empower teams to take real ownership and responsibility for their ideas. As part of a team of experts, you will bring your own knowledge, experience and perspective into the collaborative effort to develop the best possible design solutions.

Being a live product, MovieStarPlanet is developed using short production cycles meaning that your ideas have a very short time-to-market. This enables you and your team to respond quickly and effectively to learnings gained from direct user feedback from the millions kids who play MSP.

As black-belt in your craft you will also have the opportunity to have a wider impact by working alongside our other artists and designers to help raise the standard of UI/UX across all our products.

About You

Must haves

  • Energy, creativity and passion for your craft
  • 3+ years of experience developing UI/UX for mobile platforms
  • Well versed in taking ideas from wireframes to prototyping through to final products
  • Great vector illustration skills for creating icons, logos, etc.
  • Confidence working with or without creative direction
  • Appreciation of technical constraints and the importance of optimization
  • Preference for testing and iteration over exhaustive ‘up front’ design
  • A collaborative mindset
  • Ability to make and then deliver upon commitments
  • Drive for continuous improvement, both for yourself and for your team
  • Adobe Flash experience
  • Fluent in English
  • Portfolio demonstrating your skills and experience

Nice to haves

  • Previous experience in developing products for a ‘tween’ target audience
  • Experience working in an agile project environment
  • The flexibility to extend beyond the 6 month period

MovieStarPlanet ApS is the company behind the games and social networks for kids aged 8-13 years - MovieStarPlanet, BooniePlanet and BlockStarPlanet. In the virtual worlds each user designs their own MovieStar avatar, BlockStar and Boonie, which are used to play the games, engage and have fun with other friends. In the games there is a wide spread of options to dress-up, chat with friends, design looks, making movies and scrapbooks, design clothes, building robots and play mini games.

Launched in Denmark in 2009, MovieStarPlanet ApS has since experienced explosive growth. Currently, the games are live in 16 countries across 11 European markets as well as the United States, Canada, Australia and New Zealand. Globally we rank among the most popular virtual worlds for the target group with more than 300 million registered profiles.

MovieStarPlanet ApS employs around 150 staff at the Headquarter based in the attractive surroundings of the new and modern part of Copenhagen called Ørestad, located very close to the city center and the metro line. Corporate language is English.
