About the Job
As a DevOps engineer at MovieStarPlanet you will be part of a cross-disciplinary game-team responsible for creating new game features both front- and back-end, releasing new content to the game weekly and ensuring that the game is in an optimal state, both from a user perspective, from a security perspective and from a hosting cost perspective. You will be working closely together with DevOps engineers from other teams, ensuring that knowledge and best practices are shared among you.

As a DevOps Engineer at MovieStarPlanet, the sky is the limit on the impact you can have on the business. All our game-teams engineer and deploy their own code and the DevOps engineers provide the missing link between Development and Operations that ensures the team can have a deep understanding of our infrastructure and can pick the right tools for the job.

We embrace infrastructure as code and constantly work towards more and better automation and monitoring. As a DevOps Engineer you will be working with tools and systems for CI/CD pipelines, application performance monitoring, anomaly detection, churn prediction and much more.

As our DevOps Engineer your principal duties and responsibilities will be to:

  • Assist game-teams during releases
  • Improve our CI/CD pipeline
  • Ensure proper logging and monitoring metrics during the entire application lifecycle
  • Cultivate and improve operational automation processes
  • Participate in infrastructure architecture decisions
  • Contribute ideas on how to continuously improve systems and processes
  • Be available for on-call 24/7 duty approximately 1 week per month

About You
You possess an insatiable desire to continuously improve system reliability and performance and have a great understanding of scalable web architectures - and have implemented a few.
You graciously help others who look to you for feedback and guidance and therefore you are also a great communicator who can advocate for your plans and teammates’ ideas. In general you think ahead and plan for the future.
Furthermore you have:

  • Expertise with .NET Core and preferably also NodeJS
  • Working knowledge of commercial clouds (AWS preferred)
  • At least 3 years of experience in a development or DevOps role supporting development teams
  • Solid scripting skills in Bash, Powershell and/or Python
  • Your English skills are excellent - verbally and in writing
